Shadows of the Mind is evidently the sequel to Emperor's new mind, or maybe it's an expansion of it.   This is the one with the controversial ideas of quantum gravity in it, but I haven't gotten that far yet.  (Had intended to do fun things with kids and also read, but spent teh weekend cooking and peddling cookies to the neighbors instead.  About my least favorite thing ever, but Junior's an entrepreneurial sort, and I suppose it's good to encourage that sort fo thing.)
