Fascinating, if it's actually true...

I've been thinking about this ever since I read it, yesterday.  Imagine coming upon another Earth - one having the same biological makeup supporting all the same kinds of life as we know it here, both human and otherwise...how unbelievable would that be?  "Within 5 years" they say...but I doubt it could actually happen within our lifetimes.

since yesterday?

You're going to have to think about it longer than that if you want to earn your Spock ears, young lady.

no, no - I didn't mean that - I'm just thinking about the reality this article raises, that there might be other "earths" identical to ours.  Other earths would almost have to mean other humanity; identical to us but so different in every way.  Science fiction always portrays alien life as being so much more advanced than we are.  But what if we discovered another earth and instead of being advanced, found them to be still in what we'd consider prehistoric times?  Or even equivalent to a previous century on our earth?  What would their religions, languages, art and history tell us about them (and ourselves?)

Ah well, nevermind.  It all just got me daydreaming, that's all.
